Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate poet, writer, philosopher was the ambassador of Indian culture to the rest of the world. He is probably the most prominent figure in the cultural world of the Indian subcontinent and the first Asian person to be awarded with the Nobel Prize. Equally famed for his music, artistic and literary abilities, Tagore was somehow more than the sum of his talents. For the world he became the voice of India's spiritual heritage; and for India, especially for Bengal, he became a great living institution.
Featuring celebrated author Anna Perera and Kalyan Kundu, founder of the Tagore Centre, as well as the actress and dancer Senjuti Das who will be performing Tagore poems in Bengali and English; this fascinating event will explore the enduring legacy of one of the world’s most important poets.
